I think what really put me off Ruto were the weird, squeaky noises she made when Link picked her up and threw her around. lol... I mean, honestly, I think the whole thing with Link picking people up and having to carry them around temples is a little silly. I guess if there was one thing I liked about Ruto's character, though, it was her direct, no-nonsense attitude. She definitely knew what she wanted and didn't have any problem making demands on anyone. Zelda didn't have that same forwardness. Still, Ruto was a tad too annoying for my liking. I liked Zelda more because, while she was soft spoken, her actual words were more profound and thoughtful than anything Ruto spouted(especially when Zelda was in her Shiekan alter ego).

Yeah, that was a long scene. We always liked tossing her at enemies and down the holes and such. It was a pain getting her back, but it was fun nonetheless.
I totally spaced this when I said this in a earlier post, but I forgot that there have been two Malons and Talons in the Zelda series. Malon and Talon first appeared in Link's Awakening for Game Boy. That was the Malon I was talking about.

Haha! There was also a Malon (I'm not sure about Talon, but I think he was) in Oracle of Seasons. Malon ran Lon Lon ranch just north-east of town. Deja vu much?

I guess I forgot about her, too, but the Malon in Link's Awakening has no relation to Ocarina of Time's Malon except for singing. Even the looks are different. They do like to use the same names a lot, though.

They do like to use the same names a lot, though. The girl in LA is called Marin and her dad Tarin but I can see the Malon and Talon resemblances even though Link thought Marin was Zelda when he first wakes up. Malon and Talon also appear in Four Swords Adventures.

When you make a good character why use something new, eh?

I've read that Malon, Talon and ingo are based off Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach, if you notice Malon and Talon wear Bowser broaches, so it could be a sort of tribute to the Mario frnachise.

There are pictures of Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, and Bowser in the castle in OoT. So I guess what you say makes sense.

Was it really Marin and Tarin? Man, I'm getting old if I can't remember the names of characters from a game I used to play over and over again. They say the mind is the first to go.

On LA it was Marin and Tarin. Man... There are too many likenesses and namesakes throughout the games :S

I agree. Then again, I like some of the familiarity too. I'm actually hoping some of the sages (i.e. Nabooru, Impa, etc.) from OoT may reappear in the TP. It would be cool to see some updated characters from past games. I could do without seeing Tingle for a while, though...

They should make Tingle an enemy. I'd have to say it would be cool to see such characters updated with the newer graphics and whatnot. That, and they are cool characters to begin with.

I think I've said this before, but I think Anju and Kafei were really cool characters. I thought the side-story quest in Majora's Mask for the Couple's Mask was one of the best. Despite all the strange characters that appeared in that game, those two really shined.

Yeah, I'd have to say that has been one of the best, if not the best, side-story that the Zelda series has yet produced. I'm hoping to make it a big part in my story.

Really? That's so cool. I started reading one of your stories, Tiki, and it's really good. I feel bad for taking so long reading everybody's fics, but I'm so busy... I'll finish eventually, though. It will be great to see your take on the A/K story. They are definitely awesome characters.
