Does anybody out there have any pets? Tell what they're like and something funny or unusual about them.
Currently we have three cats, although my family has experimented with about a dozen fish in the past and a couple of birds as well. My brother has a pet gerbil. All three of the cats have some tabby blood in them, although our youngest one has some Persian and Maincoon in him as well (ironically, he's as large as his sisters combined and he torments them to no end).
What about you guys?

Me? Well, I've got one fat, lazy dog. He's a black lab and his name is Spike. Unfortunately, he's getting on in years. He's about 12 years old now, and he's been with me since I was a little girl. Spike's got all kinds of medical problems, though. He's about 108 pounds (extremely fat), he's got all kinds of cancerous lumps (about the size of tennis and/or golf balls) on his body, he's got cataracts in his eyes, he limps on his back right leg, and there's a permanent bald spot on his tail. He's happy, though, and he's still lovable. The best part about my dog is that he's got such a good demeanor. He's typically amiable and really only growls at really suspicious people. It's like he has a sixth sense almost.

I have a dog called Charlie, he's a mix breed, hard to explain what though >< Anywho, he was rescued from the side of a road after some *censors self* threw him out of a car window when he was a puppy causing him to break two of his legs and his tail. But he's all better now.

Um...we have a dog. She's a golden retriever and likes to steal people's flip flops/slippers. It's great, especially when you go outside and THEN she gets your shoe and starts running around the backyard. Well, and here's something funny and unusual about a pet I once had when I was about 8. He was a bird...a parakete to be technical...*sniff* poor guy... He went through 2 full cycles of the dishwasher...*dramatic pause* and lived. But that's what you get for having a 3 yr. old sister who doesn't know any better. lol

How did it get into the dishwasher to begin with? And how did he go through TWO cycles, much less one without anybody noticing?

I think he got in there because of the 3-year old sister. But how did he get through two?!

Oh gosh, poor Pretty Bird...I dunno how it happened but apparently our sister put 'im in there and one of our older brothers started the dishwasher without realizing it...and apparently this happened twice because that bird was found in a traumatized state lying on its back, lol. So basically it was just a lack of noticing, though missing such a detail twice is kinda bad, lol. But me and Marshmallow's youngest sister was always letting him out of his cage so heh...there wasn't a lot we could do about it. We even moved the cage to the top of the refridgerator and that didn't stop her, lol. Pretty Bird got sick a couple of weeks later and died so I figure that's from the dishwashing experience. I think Marshmallow was even holding him so my mom could clean out his cage...so he died in her hands. It was a sad day...

We didn't know if it was a boy or girl so that's what we named it, lol.

Your youngest sister must be pretty agile if she got to it at the top of the fridge. I would think it'd be pretty traumatic to have a bird die in your hands. I have three cats, and I don't know what I'd do if I found one of them dead, much less die right in front of me.

Eh...we actually hadn't had Pretty Bird for that long so it wasn't too big of a deal. Marshmallow cried at the time but the whole ordeal wasn't all that upsetting. Yeah, it's sad that it died and whatnot but we were pretty young at the time anyways.

We lost our first goldfish within 24 hours of getting it. I was really young at the time, but I remember getting all hysterical the morning we found it.
