Where did you get the idea for your story? I guess mine came from extensive playing of both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Over the course of about two years I developed the idea, adding to, and taking away from, aspects of the story. Just recently I've done some major reworking on the story. It's heading in a new direction now. I wasn't able to do things as I originally planned because I no longer own Majora's Mask (sold it to a friend) . I always thought it would be cool if the two stories were somehow interconnected. They are so similar anyway! So, I finally started working it out and after quite awhile of thinking it through and avoiding actually posting it, I put it up. Start the actual writing about a year ago. I think it's a neat idea, combining the two stories into one. I know nothing of anyone everyone doing anything like it before. I could be wrong though. So, where did you get the idea for your story?

Believe it or not, my story's been going on for almost ten years now. I started out doing mystery-style stories, but after I got stuck I stopped writing for a couple of years. I moved to the action genre after having a OoT type dream and finished all that during my senior year of high school. I got onto Fanfiction about a year ago and started rewriting and weaving everything together as I posted. That's pretty much everything in a nutshell.

Let's see, my story Zen's Amulet was first thought up at one point when I was blow drying my hair one day. It was weird, the entire prologue just came to me and I hurried up and got to a computer asap, typed it down, and from there expanded it. Lol, and like Zen's, my other one Guardians of Legend was just an idea that randomly popped into my head...^.^

My humor/parody fic "Sora vs. the 7Up Machine" fic came from a 7Up commercial where a guy get getting shot by cans so the soda got to him faster. : ) And then I incorporated my conspiracy theory in with that, and the Furbies came later on when I saw a Furby commercial. Plus the sequel is kinda like that, but it's got "Star Wars" stuff in it, and it actually has a plot line.

A story with a plotline? No way! It'll never work.

lol, you just keep telling yourself that... Actually though, the original was just a bunch of random news stories with no true hard core plot line. It was a bit harder for me to come up with ideas for that over the sequel which I'm working on now. And there was a Zelda fic I started, but I temporarily discontinued it to make some major plot changes/improvements. That idea came to me...uh...I guess it sorta just popped into my head.

My first fanfic was KH ((since that's my fandom)) and I stole the first chapter from Marshmallow with her permission of course and it was just going to be a one-shot, but then I added a couple more chapters to it.
My ACTUAL fanfic I should say was actually written about three years ago in a notebook. I never posted it and then about a year later, I found that notebook and decided to totally revise it and change a lot of stuff. Finally, it took me a year to finish and it's been finished since April and I actually despise that fic now... the beginning of it at least.

And you forgot to add that you discontinued it...

Yeah, yeah. Lost inspration bunnies on it. Plus, I don't think it's as funny as some of the humor fics I have done.

My story has been developing in my head since practically forever. I just originally wanted to write a short, 10-chapter story, and look what happened! 42 chapters, and still going! But I kept pushing myself and wanting to add twists, hence the "Hidden Kingdon", the "Stone slumber", the "Fire People", the "Different dimensions" and the "Travelling between dimemsions". I just wanted it to be original and unpredictable... and I think I succeeded! My story (so far) has combined elements (maybe as tiny as a minor character mentioned here or there) from OoT, aLttP, and WW as the major ones. Tatl and Tael from MM make a re-occuring appearecne as well here or there. I was thinking of adding the Oracle games... but that might be pushing it a little. As it is I have soooo much to get through on one storyline (cause theres two at the moment that touch and weave and branch out and will eventually join again and becaome one big storyline as it was before) and so little to do on the other and I can't blend them yet! So I may have no choice! So, Blondie, watch out! There may or may not be another dimension jump... ;D

Well! What a unique thread...!
My very first fanfic (discontinued -_-) was inspired by a friend of mine, who I met on a Lord of the Rings RPG. I think her name is Celebanna, but anyway. I read her stories and thought they were awesome! I just had to make my own, so, I concieved 'The Shadow Child'.
It's discontinued, yeah, but, oh well. I then moved onto my own personal novelization of 'The Ocarina of Time', and worked on it for five years.
But, thing was, I actually wanted to publish it. And I realized then it woudln't be possible, so I dropped the story and started on something new. Something very original.
Right now? I'm working on something I call a 'fandoc', a fan documentary. It's called 'Civility for Humanity', and it documents (or fandocs) on the life of Ganon. ^^ It's on Fanfiction.net right now, still in the works.
Wow, nice thread...! ^^

I wrote my very first fanfic long before I had even heard of fanfiction.net and it was a Zelda/Dragonball Z crossover, categorized as romance/action/adventure. I don't know how I got the idea for it; I think it may have been simply because I was inspired by the two series. Plus, I could take a lot of creative license with a crossover. I cringe when I read it today, though; my own writing abhors me. My purely Zelda fanfic (still in-progress) was the result of a desire to write something really good... something that I could be proud of and show everyone without feeling embarrassed. (The parents weren't too thrilled at the discovery of "M-rated" stories on my data drive...) I wanted it to be original, I wanted to do something creative, and I wanted it to be well-written. I took elements from all the Zelda games I ever played and then combined them with ideas swirling around in my own head. And... poof! Story! (Well, there's a lot more work to it than that. Now I just brainstorm ideas over time. The plot gets more complicated as I go, but also more exciting. I like to see how things play out rather than organize everything from the beginning. It's more fun for me that way.

I'd have to say that a desire to write something original and something to be proud of was definitely a key factor for me. I hope my idea provides that. So far people seem to enjoy it and it seems to be going nicely. One comment even said something about how I blended OoT, MM, and Zelda 'Mythology' nicely. Heh.
