Motivation and inspiration seem to be the bigger of everyone's weaknesses. Like I said before, what really helps me in these areas is reading. I also find inspiration in movies, games, and so on.

I find inspiration in movies, that's for sure...Well, as long as they're the action or the horror type...just somethin' to get my heart really goin'. When I lose inspiration I also find that if I force myself to write, as I get going I'll find the inspiration needed and can change anything horrid that I produced before that time.

I'd have to agree with that. Forcing yourself to 'take up the pen' is a way to help get over writer's block. In fact, I've done that for a number of chapters of my original story.

Same here. Most of the time I just spend hours watching shows and reading books, but there have been a few times I just have to stare at the computer screen and work the stuff out in my head until it comes out. I lose more computers that way.

lol. Listening to music helps me get inspiration. *nods* Liatening to fast paced music is good for writing action scenes while slow music is good for more peaceful times.

Yeah, I love to listen to music. Heh, even when I'm writing. Seriously, though, I agree. Fast, action music helps me whilst writing a battle/action scene. Slow music, peaceful music for just about anything else. Sad music also helps for (what else?) the sad scenes.

Say, I've never really listened to fast music for action scenes and stuff. That's a good idea. I shall start doing that. Generally, I just listen to the words of the songs I'm listening to to get ideas and such.

Music used to help me write, but it doesn't do it that much anymore. I also used to want peace and quiet, but I've found I have to have at least a little bit of background noise. I don't really understand why, though.

I'm the same, but I just can't write if someone else is in the room! When I'm listening to music while writing, I tend to block it out, and sometimes subconsciously lip-sync. I tend to come out with better stuff like that. And I just sit back and let whatever comes to mind flow. There have been a few times where I've given myself a character and just written, but that tends to rush things At any rate, I'm not sure what my strengths or weaknesses are. Save for one: My lack of confidence is definately a weakness.

I agree that it's hard to write when somebody else is in the room, but I especially find it hard to write anything if somebody is looking over my shoulder. I've gotten over it a little because I can do some writing in class (I'm a bad boy, I know) when I'm bored, but other than that I absolutely hate it.

My inspiration seems to come to me late at night when I'm in bed thinking, but I never write it down before I go to sleep and I forget the next day.

I get inspired in school sometimes too. Last year I had a lil bit of time to write in some of my classes, but I don't know how this year will turn out. I just hate being inspired and not having the time.
