The Forgotten Hero
Blades shall be laid down, Shields put up in honor, And like all things in this world, The hero shall be forgotten.
And though once did he shine Once did he rise above all others, The hero shall always fade He shall always be forgotten.
And memories will fade to dust Echoes of the past shall disappear And the hero sadly slips away Far too long forgotten.
But only when endangered, Only for their own lives Do they call upon the hero, But to him, they are forgotten.
For the hero has found his calling Far from home, a distant land, New adventures lie in wait Not soon to be forgotten.
Taking up his blade, Raising his shield in pride, He fights with renewed valor, His old land indeed forgotten.
A legend once more, but not for long, For legends fade to memories. And memories shall fade away... Again, the hero is forgotten.
And so off the hero rides. A blade of justice is his weapon, A shield of faith is his protection, But the true hero cares not for fame, Cares not if he’s forgotten.
For blades shall be laid down, And shields put up in honor, And like all things in this world, The hero shall be forgotten.
Disclaimer: Not my Poem. It was written by a friend. It has sort of a Zelda esque about it..
