Since Mario's debut in the eighties, he has become a key icon in video game history. Nintendo's produced so many games for the plumber in red overalls since his first apperance on the NES: Mario Golf, Mario Party, Mario Baseball, Mario Tennis, Mario whatevuh... use this thread to talk about anything Mario!

Great thread. It's nice to see people starting to feel more comfortable with the forum. Anyway, back on topic. I love SMB3. I'd say it was my favourite one so far. Though, I really enjoy Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64. I have both of them.

I've been a Mario fan for a long time. I loved the older games up to the 64 days but the impact of his recent games isn't as great anymore. I think they're doing way too many spinoffs, the only ones I enjoy are the Mario Kart series and the early Mario Parties.
Mario Galaxy looks like it could be something good though.

Yeah, I'd have to say that all of the spin-offs (football, baseball, tennis, etc.) are kinda dumb. I've played a few of them and they are kinda fun but they already have such games. They really shouldn't have made them with Mario characters. Bleh.
What's Mario Galaxy?

I was wondering the same thing. I haven't heard of Mario Galaxy before. Is it for the Wii system? Or is it for another console?
I have to say that if there is one Mario game that I really do love, it's Mario Dance Dance Revolution. lol. My friends and I will bring pads over and have huge dance-off competitions. It's a lot more fun than just sitting around playing Mario Party.

Yes Mario Galaxy is going to be for the Wii. wii.ign.com/articles/707/707184p1.htmlSome info and screens there if you're interested. I've never tried the Mario DDR, I wouldn't mind a go but I don't have the room.

Looks pretty cool. Since I probably won't be getting a Wii (perhaps in about five years ) I guess I'll miss out on this one.

I haven't ever played the Mario Golf, etc. I played one of the Mario Part games and found it to be pretty fun, but I have to say I LOVE Mario Kart! I can remember when I first played the Super NES one as a 1st grader and kept crashing into the walls, lol.

Mario Kart is awesome ^^. I love them all but the DS one is my favourite just because of the wifi option, gives it a never ending lifespan.

I like MarioKart Double Dash for Gamecube and then the other MarioKart games for GBA, N64, and the older Nintendo systems. Yup yup. Those would definitely have to be my favorite Mario games...though Super Mario World (I think that's what it's called) for N64 was pretty fun too.

I'm pretty good at the other Mario Kart games, but the one I'm having a little trouble getting used to is Double Dash...but I'm getting better. When me and blondie played 2 player I'd just let her drive and I'd do the shooting. I thought Super Mario Word on N64 was pretty fun too. But I could never aim good with Bowser in the final battle so I'd always have to ask my brother to throw him for me.

When I was younger, my family and I would have Mario Kart 64 game tournaments, and I always chose the character Yoshi. I swear I never lost a single battle with him. My family eventually got sick of playing because I won all the time. I credit the little green dinosaur for my incredible success.

Sweet, I use Yoshi all the time too! He's the real reason why anyone wins.

You know I can't win Mario Double Dash, though, even when I do play Yoshi. I've tried every character with him, and I always lose. Then again, no matter who I play in that game I lose. I always thought it was harder to control the karts in that game in comparison to Mario Kart 64. Maybe it was the whole "team" thing. I don't like working in teams hardly ever. Yoshi's a loner. He doesn't need anybody but himself. lol.
