I didn't know where this should go, thought here was the best place... www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQRcjvDqU6MAnyhoo I believe it was on tv a few months back, they were testing to see which out of the three main consoles at the time were most durable. I wasn't surprised that thw Gamecube came out on top, the playstation 2 went down awfully fast though. In this topic I wanted to ask how well do you look after your consoles? How many do you have? Are they still in good shape? I hear a lot of broken DS stories which confuses me since I don't know how people can be so rough with them. I myself have a Sega Master System, SNES, N64, GC, PS2, GBC, GBA, DS and a Lite. All collected over the years, not bought at once lol. Most of them are still in good shape, I try to take care of them. There was this one time when my radio fell on my PS2 but it survived. Oh and the time my friend caught her foot in the Master System's wires and it flew off the cupboard.

Dang, that lady killed those systems.
I take excellent care of all my game systems. Even the ones that my family shares. I've got my Gamecube up in my room and though it's not really that old since I didn't get it til last Christmas, I think I'll have it for a long time in good condition...especially if it can take such a beating and still work. Though the seven year old I'm babysittin' just wanted to play it so I'm kinda scared for it...o.O
We've still got the oldest Nintendo system and it works though sometimes you have to mess around with it because it won't read the game, but it's in decent shape for being so old. And then the N64 still works awesomely. The Super Nintendo works as far as I know but right now it's not hooked up to any of the tvs. Personally I wouldn't mind having it in my room but I dunno what my parents have in mind...
Me and Marshmallow have a Game Boy Advanced and it works good and so does the older of my littlest sister's DS that she got for Christmas the same time I got my Gamecube. Oh, and we've got an X-Box that works great too that my brother's got all of us sisters for Christmas two years ago I think.
My family takes good care of the games belonging to each system too...and don't leave 'em lying out in the open without a case or anything. The only Gamecube game I have that doesn't work well is Soul Calibur 2 that I bought used. I got it cheap so I don't care, but for one that game is lame for a fighting game, and two, there's a scratch (I didn't know there was one until I took it home!) in the back and the case is all battered and it just leaves me thinking how the heck can people do this to their games when all my games are still shiny and look brand new despite how often I play 'em. I got Metroid Prime used for like $7 bucks though and it's in good shape though so meh...

All of my games are kept in pretty tidy places too. Although I have actually broken a Gamecube game once. It was my very first console to use disks so I didn't know to just push the centre of the disk to get it out of the case, I tried to take it out at the edges and snap ><
I have a few problems with my older consoles like reading the games but once I clean the dust away they work fine.

My family hasn't really been big on video games. That, and we haven't ever really had the funds to purchase them. I myself had to buy both my Nintendo Entertainment System and my Nintendo 64. My NES works pretty good, takes a little to get it to read the games though. My N64 works perfectly. All of the games I have for both are in excellent condition albeit a bit dusty. Cleaning is probably the one thing I do not do often enough. My sister does own a PS2. I have a couple games for that. Both the console and the games are in good condition. I take care of them even though they are my sister's.

I can't believe the Game Cube actually worked after all of that. It's really a credit to Nintendo's workmanship. I wonder, though, if maybe Sony and Microsoft design their products with the whole "planned obsolescence" theory in mind. Anyways, I've always taken pretty good care of my consoles. The worst damage I can do is break the battery clasp on the backs of my Gameboys (because I have a tendency to drop them). Also, when I got my first GameBoy (the original, a looong time ago), I took it with me on a family vacation and left it in our hotel room the day we went home. When I discovered it was lost, my family and I drove all the way back to the hotel (one and a half hours) to retrieve it from maid service. Those things were expensive back in the day. To leave it would have been a sin!

Heh, I forgot about good old Gameboy. I have an original one too (another thing I paid for ). It's in pretty good shape. The only thing is that the screen cover popped off. Still not sure why though. It's under my bed in a box. Heh, I kinda want to play it now.

I have a Gameboy Color. I'm not sure if it still works or not, but I've always taken care of it. I've dropped my GBAsp a few times, but it seems to be working well.
Other than that, I take very good care of my PS2, but I think I should dust it every now and then heh heh. It's hard to take care of it, especially when you have a one year old sister who likes to grab the controller and run off with it when it's still plugged in the console.

I have a SNES, a N64, a GC, a GBC, a GBA, and a PS2. They all still work... some with a little more pursuasion than others... but they work none the less. Most of them are put away in a cupboard or drawer, but I still pull out the PS2, GC, GBA, or N64 now and again.
PS: Loved the clip! XD

Well, I have all the same game consoles as blondie...although she neglected to mention that we've (or maybe it was just me...heh ) dropped our GBA 2 or 3 times. But that was awhile ago and it still works good.

I used to have an original Game Boy, but it's lost now. I still have no idea what happened to it. I used to have a bad habit of dropping it, too. I broke the battery hatch to it and we kept it in place with medical tape. It's surprising for all the neglect we give all the older systems that they still work pretty good.

I broke so many SNES controllers it's unbelievable. I used to be an angry little kid, when I didn't do something right on a game I'd take it out on the controller.

I remember my older brother tossing a NES controller at me. I was about 5 and he was about 12. I think I was laughing at something stupid he did and he got mad and threw it at me. It was a long time ago so I don't remember that much. I don't toss things that much; I just scream bloody murder.

I would always act like I was going to throw my controllers but never actually would. I didn't want to break them. Well, actually, I did want to break them but I didn't want to buy new ones.

That's the same with me. I would be about reading to break something, and then the thought have having to pay for it flashed through my mind.
