The Ring was the first horror movie I ever watched and that was in 7th grade. Freaked me out and it just so happened that on the 7th day my sister was off on some trip (I share a room with her) and the house kept making funny noises, I woke up around the time exactly 7 days later from when I watched it) and I was just scared to death. lol. Ring 2 isn't as good as the first but it fills in some stuff. But from there my horror movie likings extended and though they freak me out to no end, I'm actually not so paranoid AFTER I watch them. During the movie I can't say the same...When I watched the unrated version of The Excorcist (I think the only thing extra in that was the spider crawl because it was apparently to scary to put in the regular version...) and I screamed bloody murder, yanked my blanket over my head and started crying after that spider crawl. I'm pathetic though and now that I think about it, it really wasn't THAT scary...but it was still quite scary.

My mother WOULD NOT let any of us see the Exorcist. My older brother and I could watch it if we wanted to because we're out of the house, but my younger brother is still under that rule. She believes it's too scary, and I'm not willing to contest that argument. My brothers are psychos, though. During the Ring, they would rewind and slow down the scene at the very beginning where they find the girl in the closet and her head bobs down as soon as the door is opened. They'd do that about ten times and then just pause it to observe the mutilated look on her face. Does anybody else have brothers like mine, or am I just a special case?

The film closest to a horror movie that I've ever seen is "The Mummy" and that's really stretching it. Just reading about the girl's head "bobbing up and down" in Nova's post made me cringe. Those scarabs, though.... *shudders* I had nightmares for nights after watching those bugs crawl up people's flesh and devour them. YUCK! I'm a big fan of comedies, but my favorite movies are more serious. I love Amadeus (I finally got the director's cut on DVD), Gone With the Wind (don't bother reading the book, though), and, when I'm in the mood, Lord of the Rings. Oh, and anything, absolutely ANYTHING, by Miyazaki Hayao absolutely thrills me.

Actually, I did not find The Ring scary in any way. Probably the only other horror movie I've seen was The Grudge. That movie was kinda terrifying. Of course, I watched it at about 2 at night and then promptly went to bed. Heh. It was one freaky movie.

That's the one with Sarah Michelle-Gellar, right? (Sorry, if I got the name wrong. I'm not good with actor/actress names).

Yeah, I think that's her name. Which reminds me that Scary Movie 4 was a parody of The Grudge. Heh.

Okay, I can't believe I'm asking this (I'm way too old to be asking this), but has anybody seen "The Emperor's New Groove?" I swear I've seen that movie at least ten times and I never stop laughing. It's hilarious. David Spade's voice was perfect for Kuzco.

I have a friend like your brothers. At the scariest parts of the The Ring she would pause it at the wrong time...and The Exorcist is so freaky! It didn't help that that same friend tried to imitate how the girl was being thrown around on her bed and found it to be impossible, plus she even attempted the spider crawl. It was a good movie, but just...ugh...I cried several times during it...And like I said before, the spider crawl was one of those times. The Mummy rocks! When I first watched it (which was a long time ago) the bug thing scared me and I was even checkin' my blankets to make sure nothing was there, lol. But now I've grown to love the movie despite that...and I still cover my eyes every time that part comes on! lol. I love Lord of the Rings...it makes for some incredible movies and some incredible books. The Grudge freaked me out to no end. I've seen it twice and still I've missed several major parts due to the fact that I cower under a blanket or something. And YESSSSSS!! I love The Emperor's New Groove. That movie is HILARIOUS!!! I especially love the shoulder angels and when Kronk is singing a weird song thing as he's supposedly disposing of Kuzco, lol.

'Happy happy birthday, from all of us to you! We wish it was our birthday, so we could party too!' Heh. I've never actually seen all of it but what I did see was pretty funny.

Yeah, I've seen the Emperor's New Groove, and it is absolutely awesome! It's one of the classics. Another one I never get tired of is "Hitch". Has anyone ever seen it?

Let's see...I think when I was gone one week my family watched it sometime at that point, so I've never seen it. Though I have been wanting to. ^.^

I've seen parts of "Hitch" but I could never sit still through the whole thing.
I like Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I think that was the best one so far, but I'm extremely tired of that franchise.

I love horror movies as well, and it's interesting when me and blondie get all paranoid...although she's worse than me...WAY worse... I haven't seen the "The Haunting" but I have seen both of "The Ring" movies (I've seen the first one about 7 or 8 times, in fact). I agree that the sequel wasn't as good as the first. However, it still was interesting. "The Grudge" freaked me out... The first time I saw that movie in theaters I thought it was the scariest movie ever, and it made me quite paranoid... Then finally after the 2nd round when we got it for our bday last year on DVD it wasn't QUITE as scary since I knew where all the scary parts were. (Well, at least most of them...I never could watch when the hands appeared in the shower...not even on the trailors...lol I know I'm terrible) But I love "Emperor's New Groove"! It's one of my favorite Disney Movies besides "Aladdin" and "The Lion King" Oh, and I thought "Hitch" was pretty funny too.
