From what it seems, quite a few members here like Japanese anime... so it seemed like to good idea to post a thread for everyone to list favorites.
Personally, I think Miyazaki Hayao produces the best animated films that I have ever seen. "Spirited Away," "Kiki's Delivery Service," and "Howl's Moving Castle" are my favorites. I was really surprised when I saw "Spirited Away" for the first time because I was blown away by the beautiful artwork. (This was at my middle school graduation party). I became more and more interested in Japanese animation, and I developed a deep admiration for Miyazaki and his storytelling. What impresses me most about his work are his strong, independent female protagonists. Considering the general Japanese attitude toward women, his lead characters really surprised me... but I didn't have any complaints. Every time I watch a Miyazaki film, I feel like I get something new from the viewing experience. It's really amazing.
So, now that I've rambled on long enough, what are everyone else's faves?

I love Miyazaki films, especially Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke, the stories are amazing and the art is beautiful. The only thing I don't like are his endings, they don't feel very fulfilling.
My fav anime show at the moment is Yu Yu Hakusho, I was recently introduced to it and find it quite entertaining, a little gory at times but it's cool.

Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke are my fave Miyazaki films. I like Sailor Moon since it was after all the first Anime I had ever watched. I like InuYasha as well.

Sailor Moon was really my favorite anime show back in the day. I was a fan of Sailor Mercury and Sailor Venus. Princess Mononoke was a pretty good movie too, but I have to agree with Kaz that the ending wasn't very fulfilling.

It's a shame of mine to say I like anime when I've never seen a single episode of Sailor Moon. Terrible, isn't it? One of these days, though, I'm going to get my hands on a copy of a tape or a DVD and watch an episode. I used to watch YuYu Hakusho. It's pretty good; I have always been more of a DBZ girl, though.

If there was ever an anime out there that I liked it was Sailor Moon...me and Marshmallow used to watch it all the time before we had to leave for school several years ago. Princess Mononoke was weird but besides my once liking the Sailor Moon show, I've never been too fond of Anime...
I've seen a few episodes of DBZ. Never interested me much though I'm sorry to say...

DBZ is really the only anime I've really seen much of. So I guess that's my favourite.

I've only watched a few episodes of DBZ.
I finally got to watching the last episode of Sailor Moon. They never showed the last season in the US and I was so mad.

DBZ was my first major anime that I watched. Pokemon and YuGiOh were close seconds (though I suppose Pokemon probably came first, but I didn't consider it an anime back then). I enjoy Rurouni Kenshin and Yu Yu Hakusho, and at times I'll watch Inuyasha. There's probably a lot more that I'll watch if they're on, but those are the majors.

I used to be obsessed with Pokemon and Digimon. I also have watched Sailor Moon, Monster Rancher, Cardcaptors, Tenchi, Outlaw Star, a bit of DBZ. I used to watch way too much tv.

I guess Yugioh and Pokemon are anime too...I used to love those shows, particularly Yugioh because I though Yami was cool, but eventually I just found 'em to be kinda...Well, let's put it this way, I have no problem making fun of the shows now. I loved the first season of Digimon but after that my opinion of it plummetted.

I liked the first two seasons of Digimon and then I lost interest. I never got into Card Captors or Monster Rancher that much. I'd watch Tenchi occasionally, but it was too strange most of the time to keep up with. In one my more embarrassing moments...I watched a few episodes of Sailor Moon.

The first two seasons of Digimon were the best. I used to watch a little bit of Cardcaptors, but one time I missed a whole bunch of episodes and kind of got lost.

I only watched about half of the first season of Digimon. It wasn't too bad of a show.
