So, what did you think was the hardest temple in Ocarina of Time? It can be one of the actual temples or one of the dungeons you beat as a kid. Thoughts, opinions, whatever, surely you have one. Share them! For me, I'd have to say the Water Temple only because it took so long to beat. There was so much backtracking and whatnot. It took forever with the changing of the water levels and all of that. Then, perhaps, the hardest mini-boss ever, Dark Link. Frankly, I was a little disappointed with Morpha, though. He was a pretty easy boss, I thought. A bit anticlimactic really. Anyway, I'm done until someone else posts their thoughts.

I found the Water Temple to be frustrating...it's such a pain to navigate. o.o; Dark Link was awesome though and alongside Ganondorf and Twinrova, he's one of my favorite bad dudes! I agree with you on the Morpha thing...I don't think I had any trouble with that part. ^.^

Here's a question, kinda off topic but, meh. What order are the temples supposed to be beaten? I mean, the medallions would suggest that the Spirit Temple is before the Shadow Temple but it seems like everyone says it should be the other way around. I always beat the Spirit Temple first and then the Shadow. Anyways, I loved Volvagia and King Dodongo. They were cool.

I'd have to agree with you that the Water Temple is the hardest...I cheated and used a walkthrough . But when one of my bros. played it he made it look so easy. Like you, I usually beat the Spirit Temple first only cuz I strongly dislike the Shadow Temple...it's way too creepy and the music drives me insane. I always thought the Spirit Temple was one of the funner ones too.

Don't worry, my brothers and I always cheat and use walkthroughs. I've been trying to pull away from them, but I'm such a perfectionist I'd like to get everything the first time through if I can. I definitely vote the Water Temple as the hardest. It gets easier the more times you play through it, but the first two or three times are a real pain in the rear. When we first got the game, my older brother beat the game within a month because he had to go back to college and he couldn't take it with him, but he put a ton of time into it. I'd have to say 3-4 hours at a time per couple of days. I don't really remember, really, but I've been known to do stuff like that, and I'm a lot like him when it comes to Zelda games. He got so frustrated when he went up against Dark Link. It must've taken him the whole night before he actually figured out what to do. It was really quite humorous.

Honestly, I never used a walkthrough. I'm so game savvy that I figured it all out on my own. Actually, perhaps a year or two ago which is well after I completely cleared everything about OoT I read a walkthrough online. Heh. I already knew like 99% of everything it said.

I admit to almost always using strategy guides when I'm playing Zelda games. I'll start off adamantly refusing to use a walkthrough and then about halfway into the game I'm desperate for help. I did, however, beat the Master Quest of OoT w/out a guide, but, then again, I had the regular U.S. version basically memorized, so I knew most of the game strategies ahead of time. And I was always confused about the order of the last two temples in OoT too. I've always played Shadow first, then Spirit (because Spirit's my favorite, and I love to save the best for last). That's not to mention, of course, the first time I played OoT, the Shadow temple freaked me out and I just wanted to get it over with ASAP. I remember I actually had my friend play with me so I could finish. (C'mon, I was just a kid! ). I guess order doesn't really matter, though...

So many people say they were freaked out by the Shadow Temple. Heh, when I first saw it I was still a kid too but I loved it! It was awesome and it still is.

I've always done Shadow first. I never really thought about doing the Spirit Temple first. I don't care that much for anything with a zombie or horror theme, though. When I first played the game, I absolutely HATED going through any area with the ReDeads. They scared the wits out of me.

Usually I'd go nab the hover boots from the Shadow Temple and then go to the Spirit Temple, come back and then beat the Shadow Temple, though I think the Shadow Temple actually does come before the Spirit Temple in the 'technical' order.

Lol. The first time I heard the ReDeads shriek, I shut off the game and I was done for the day. It was in the tomb of the Royal Family where there was all that green ooze and smoke. I used to tremble when I fought that dead hand in the Shadow Temple too. In fact, if we're recounting Zelda horror stories, the first time I watched OoT was with my whole family and my dad's college buddy. We were all gathered 'round the TV (a warm, family bonding moment ) and my mom had just about beat the Great Deku Tree's temple and entered the boss's domain. As with most new games, we didn't know what to expect so when Gohma popped out of the dark, my mom, my sis, and I all screamed. It's pretty funny to retell at our family reunions now. (Only my family can reminisce over video games... I swear...)

Now that's funny! My mom always told us to keep the sound down or off, and that's been going on since the NES first came out and we had Super Mario Bros playing. As far the ReDeads go, I just used to dash through the Royal Tomb. I didn't care about the ooze, just as long as I got away from those things.

That's funny. Nothin' really creeps me out about OoT...except for the well when you have to get the Eye of Truth. Er, whatever it's called...and Redeads are annoying but fun to freeze with the Sun Song, lol.

The Sun Song is all that got me through the temples with ReDeads. I couldn't have played through that game (at least at that age) w/out that song. Good ol' ocarina. My sis actually has one that she ordered after seeing an ad in Nintendo Power. It's crafted nicely, looks just like the one in the game, and plays wonderfully.

Heh, I'd love to be able to play the ocarina. That would be cool. Yeah, I would say that the absolute hardest temple of any game ever would have to be the Temple of Time. It took me forever to figure out what to do in there.
