Now that school is starting up again, I thought it would be a good time to have everybody share what's going on. Tell about your school, classes, activities, and anything else that's interesting or whatever you want to talk about.
I'm two weeks into my Senior year at college. It's a Baptist Bible college way up in Northern Wisconsin, next to the upper peninsula of Michigan. I'm only doing 12.5 credit hours this semester, so my work load is pretty light. I still have one more year to go, though, because of my Education classes (which, I'll admit, I didn't pass all of them the first time through). My major is Math Education (Bible is a secondary major that's mandatory) and my minor is Music. That's about it for now, though.

I stayed home from school Friday sick...supposedly I didn't miss much though so all I'll have to do is make up a quiz and get my other makeup work. My school is pretty ok...I'm a sophomore and am taking several honors classes this year. The only one that's giving me problems is honors chemistry even though I'm working my butt off. Right now I'm making a low B in there and I really really want an A (I'm probably what one might call the nerdy type o.o;).
I'm not sure what career path I want to follow just yet but I do intend to go to a big university (or some sort of college) one of these days when I graduate high school.

I'm on the school news paper and I'm pretty set on majoring in Journalism. I just don't know what college I want to attend, yet, but that's still a long ways off since I'm just a sophomore like blondie. I don't take any honors classes, but that doesn't make me stupid or anything. I'm actually pretty smart when it comes to English, History, and Biology. I hate math, but I don't have it for the fall so I'm happy.
I'm in the drama club and I got chosen to be a crew member for regionals, and I almost quit Thursday, because not everyone is doing their load and there are only a couple of people who agree with me, but one of those people is in the cast and the other isn't even part of it, but she stays and watches. The girl who's crew manager has the big head and we kind of argued Friday morning because she didn't agree with me.
I like the crew manager, but she's starting to get the big head and such and her true colors are starting to show. It's funny how when you get to know somebody, they turn out to be someone you strongly dislike.
Other than that, my school year is going good so far. I can't wait until regionals are over, though. I'm getting worn out.

I got this cool assignment for honors history. It's called "I Was There" and basically you write a story from the prospective of someone that was at an important event. The example he used was Lincoln's assassination and that the writer could put themselves in the shoes of John Wilkes Booth for example and the storyline has to be accurate with what happened. If there is dialogue recorded then that needs to be included, and if not you have to make up some that would be fitting to the situation. We can't do Lincoln's assassination since he used that as an example and he also talked about the Kennedy assassination and said a lot of kids did that last year so I certainly don't want to do that. I have yet to pick/find something I want to do though...Marshmallow is leaning towards Haymarket Square.

I would like to see that when she's done writing it XD I have to write something for the Homecoming skit and it has to be funny, but I can't really think of nothing.

I'm so happy! Our college president gave us an abbreviated schedule for Monday, so I can sleep in until about 10 or so! Jup, you should get Marshmellow up there. She could probably think of something I have something similar to your assignment, Blondie. I have to do a creative introduction presentation for a teaching class. It has to be related to my major or minor, but I can set it up in story form if I want. I haven't decided on what I'm doing yet, but it can only be about two minutes long, which doesn't give too much time. Neither of my subjects is easy to apply to other areas (except for maybe the Music minor), but I'll figure something out.

We had a pep rally today. Our school has no school spirit whatsoever, but it's because our football team sucks anyway.

I'm doin' the Garfield assassination! Yipee, and for now the plan is to put myself in the killer's shoes and write it from that perspective. Supposedly the guy was mentally unstable so I'll probably do even more research on that and see what I can come up with...so that'll be fun. o.O I have tomorrow though and a two paragraph summary of the event is due Monday where you have to include who you're taking on the role of so I've got tomorrow to decide and all I'll have to do is reword a few bits and pieces of my paragraphs if I change my mind so it's no big. I've got a Spanish test on Monday so tomorrow I get to study, and I'm getting all the more frustrated with my chemistry teacher. Not only is he making us get our own goggles because otherwise it's unsanitary, but he has a box for us to store them all together in the same place. I don't mind having to get my own, but there's a lack of rational there in his thinking. He set the deadline to have them for last Friday and then all we did was waste the hour away and he said as soon as everyone brings their goggles we'll do the lab orientation. As if the slackers in the class would bring them after hearing something like that! *sigh*

I can relate to irrational procedures. Our school does several of those and it annoys the tar out of me sometimes.
I have a pretty busy week this week. A few quizzes and a couple of tests and a presentation. It's not unmanageable, though. I had to sign up for my lesson presentation Friday, but I don't have to worry about until the end of November. Basically it's a twenty minute lesson from either my major or minor.

I'm just getting loaded with homework, but the load is lighter than it was the first couple weeks of school. In art class, it's drawing time! I'm drawing a squirrel and blondie's drawing a parakete...that looks like Pretty Bird used to... Well, I dislike Chemistry...it's very bleh. I think I have about 2 or maybe even 3 tests/quizzes scheduled for this week. The maybe is there cuz I don't know what we're doing for Chemistry.
Presentations can be fun. In history we're gonna have to do a group presentation type sorta thing, but I have no earthly idea when it's due.

I'm not a big group person; I'm more of a loner. I've had classes where we split into groups, but I never got involved that much. I just usually started on something and tuned everything else out. Oh well...

It depends on who I have to work with in regards to a group project. if the person is lazy or annoying then I become very peeved...otherwise I'm down with whatever so long as I have a friend in the class. I always hated it when the teacher would say divide up into groups or get a partner. Usually I could find someone to fit in with...though sometimes it's embarrassing when you're the only one in the room without a partner. The group project we have to do for history involves a group of 7.

I'm not so much lazy as I just like doing my own thing. For me it gets too confusing when I have so many different ways being presented. If I've found one that works, I just like sticking with that. There have been times that a group setting has been helpful, but I still like working alone.

For the most part, I absolutely dislike working with partners in Spanish; unless my partner is blondie or a friend. Last week for example. One day we had to divide into groups of 4. Well, me and blondie were together and we had to find 2 more peeps so we grouped up with 2 other girls who didn't have a full group. Well, anyway, we were supposed to read this paper that was in English and determine if each underlined phrase was Preterite or Imperfect (2 Spanish past tenses) and they did just fine in that. It went well, except for the fact that a girl was copying off our answers instead of staying with her group. Well, then the NEXT day we got a different paper that was written in Spanish and we had to conjugate each of the verbs into its preterite or imperfect form. They made me so uuuuurgh. They even went so far as to say that they were stupid at Spanish and that they didn't even like it, which just made me even madder. Well, me and blondie tried to help them figure it out, and a bilingual girl who was absent from the day b4 was added to our group. Me and blondie were working through the sentences, saying what we were getting as an answer and explaining as we went, and they said we weren't really helping them, so they just copied off the bilingual girl who was helping the group next to us instead of us. Then our teacher came over and asked why we weren't together, and got onto us. I was just a little frustated.

On the first day of school in my Biology class, our teacher split us up into groups and I was with all boys who don't listen or pay attention. It was bad... and they made me the group leader and then they wouldn't even listen to me. >.<
